Is DockBook affiliated with ILWU, BCMEA, or PMA?

No. DockBook is an independent product, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by ILWU, BCMEA, PMA, or any local, employer, or government body. References to collective agreements are descriptive only. They identify which workers the app is built for. Built and owned by a Local 502 longshoreman.

Which contracts does DockBook support?

Two today: BCMEA in BC and the PCLCD on the US West Coast (PMA). Both general longshore and Local 514 / PCWBFA foreman rates are supported. USMX-ILA on the East and Gulf Coast is on the roadmap. join the waitlist for launch updates.

How accurate are the pay calculations?

Every rate comes directly from the published contract tables. BCMEA Schedule A 2023 through 2026 (General + Foreman, all four day types × three shifts). PMA / PCLCD 2022 through 2028 (Basic, Skill I, II, III × four experience tiers, plus mechanic and walking-boss rates). Multipliers, overtime triggers, meal allowances, the Hoot Owl 5-hour straight-time cap, the vacation tier matrix, and pension qualifying thresholds are all built from the contract language itself. Estimates are for verification. Your real paystub still includes deductions, dues, and any payroll-specific adjustments.

Is my data private?

Yes. Your shifts, paystubs, and profile live in your own private subcollection on Firebase, only your authenticated account can read or write it. No DockBook user can see another user's earnings or shift history. Live-average data is calculated server-side and only ever exposes anonymous aggregate numbers (no identifying detail). What's free, what's Pro?

Free covers shift logging, the calendar, basic earnings, the public pay calculator, travel pay, vessel intel, and reports. Pro adds pension projections (WIPP and ILWU-PMA), live board averages, vacation / leave / stat trackers, retro pay calculator, paystub variance check, equipment notes, and the calendar week view. Pro is $6.99 per month or $49.99 per year (40% off). Free tier is forever. No card required.

How do I cancel Pro?

Cancel anytime through your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Pro is billed via standard platform purchases, so we never see your card details and don't need a cancellation request from you. Your account stays Pro until the current billing period ends, then drops back to Free. Your shift history, profile, and any logged data stays intact through the change.
